Life Goals
Understanding Yourself and Your Life Events
What is your new year’s resolution? To loose weight, get a better job, find love and happiness?
Have you thought about your life goals lately? Perhaps you have an idea of the general direction you’d like your life to head in.
Now what? Do you know what you need to do to reach your goals? Do you know how to locate and remove the obstacles that are preventing them? Do you have a plan?
There are several necessary steps to goal setting that many people aren’t aware of. We have to know that we can, and how to resolve our current problems and issues that most goals are our escape from. A goal has to be something we really want otherwise how can we be motivated to achieve it. We have to feel it.
We have to know the steps in overcoming the obstacles that are standing in the way of successfully reaching these goals. If there weren’t any obstacles we would have everything we want right now.
The problem is that many people are so focused on how to escape their current situations that they aren’t able to see beyond to a future without them.
Using the New Year’s examples above here are some thoughts to ponder.
Has the overweight person ever stopped and really listened to how their weight feels, so they can remove what is causing this feeling, hence their weight? Or do they intend to punish themselves with starvation and excessive exercise and wonder why the weight doesn’t leave? In other words, have they ever discovered why they are overweight so they can actually do something about it?
Does the person who wants a better job know why they don’t already have a rewarding and satisfying job? Do they know how they feel about themselves and their ability? Do they know what stops them from being successful? How can they expect to get a better job if they have no idea for example, that ‘feeling like a failure’ is what is preventing their success? And that until they remove this belief and feeling, success will be fleeting.
How can the person who wants to find love do so if they don’t feel lovable, deserving, or is filled with painful memories of love? Do they even know these things control this issue?
Please use the above examples to realize that perhaps, there are reasons for everything that happens, and there could be something you can do about them to change your life outcomes.
How can I create goals that I can reach?
- Stop setting unachievable goals then beating yourself up when you fail.
- Heal Your Self – A Journey to Find You creates a clear path for firstly creating then successfully achieving goals by:

“I started with a determined goal to change my miserable life. Now every single thing in my life is the opposite. I have love like I dreamed of but didn’t believe was possible. I am contented and peaceful. I don’t have any voices in my head complaining at me. I am not scared. I watch the wonderful surprises come each day as my new beliefs manifest a new world. My life is good!” Janet Greene
