We think about love every day, but do we really know what it is?

Love has been written about down the ages, romanticized and claimed to be the greatest thing on earth. Yet for many people, love only involves hurt and heartache, there is rarely anything pleasant about it.
 

We fall in and out of love continually, stockpiling each hurt, then every new relationship brings up our fears, uncertainties, and repeat situations.

The game of love is indeed a difficult one, yet we keep searching for it. Why?

  • Perhaps it is due to the need to keep searching for validation of our worthiness to exist, which is demonstrated when we are loved?
  • Perhaps it is due to the belief that love is dependant on the outside world’s judgment of us? We think that only people who are lovable are loved, while those who are not must have some character flaw that prevents it?

 
What Is Love?


The world book dictionary describes love as a strong and tender feeling, an emotion. But, what is love exactly? It seems everyone has a different definition and usage for the word.

Children are beaten in the name of love, wars are fought in the name of love. Jealousy, fighting and control are all justified in the name of love. We undertake all manner of actions because we love. But, are they these things really love?

When you look at it this way it does not make sense!

We human’s place such high emphasis on being loved. We even allow it to dictate our will to live. We keep searching for it because of some belief from deep within that it is the goal. We believe that when we find love all will be perfect.

To feel love energy in our lives is to feel like flying through life, yet to not feel love can leave us wondering what the point of living is.
 

Love energy and the will to live are intricately connected


We spend so much time thinking about love, that we forget to just feel it.

Let’s see what it really is like to physically experience love then we will know what love really is. When we step out of the fear, all that’s left is love – as you will see by doing the following activities.

  • Go to your favorite pet store – one that’s filled with babies – puppies, kittens, and rabbits.

    Decide to leave your thoughts and fears at the door by deliberately focusing on these tiny creatures.

    Walk around slowly, watching and noticing each animal. Let yourself think and feel how sweet they are. Become totally engrossed in these adorable babies.

    Now, pick one up and hold it to your chest. Take a deep breath in and open your heart to feel your love for this dear sweet creature. Feel the warmth in your chest and the smile on your face. Let it grow as you look down at 2 tiny eyes staring up at you. Let yourself fall deeply and completely in love. Open yourself to become overwhelmed with the energy of love.

    Spend at least 20 minutes holding this baby, then either move onto another and repeat, or visit the pet store at least once a week – just to open your heart and feel pure love.

    Notice how you feel for the rest of the day.

  • Do you have access to a newborn? If so, sit quietly in a comfortable chair and hold this pure soul close into your chest. Smell their newness, feel them snuggling in close. Slow down your breathing and allow your body to relax.

    Close your eyes and float away in pure love for at least 20 minutes.

    Notice how this experience makes you feel for the rest of the day.

You may feel lightheaded or overwhelmed when you first open to really feel love. That’s just because you are not use to it.

Stay in your comfort zone and continually increase your time in love, as you become more accustomed to it.

 

That’s all love is!


Isn’t it beautiful? Isn’t it amazingly special?

Now imagine how wonderful it will be to experience this feeing every day, as you wake up, go about your daily activities, and when you interact with other human beings?

This is how it is to live in love!

You don’t think about love. You experience it!

And this is very possible to do once you heal and release your fears of love, and limiting beliefs about yourself.
