Close your eyes, get comfortable in your chair, relax your body and let your shoulders drop. Feel the tightness leave and each breath of air as it fills your being with fresh life.
You are walking through a store when a beautiful item catches your eye. It was only a few hours prior, you had thought that you would like to give yourself a gift, something small but special. And here it is, sitting all by itself, many isles away from where it belonged.
A silver stand, simple yet elegant with a panel suspended by 2 rings from the top. This glass panel has a pressed pink daisy within it and the word ‘friends’ written in silver underneath. Behind are photograph pockets.
Feel the meaning of the word friends, and what it represents to you.
You begin to feel all the people who have touched your heart this lifetime. I want you to think of one particular person who has touched your heart. Think about your relationship with this person, what they mean to you, let yourself hear the story of this special connection.
Now, spend 10 minutes thinking and feeling while you write – what this person means to you.
Many people have touched my heart this lifetime, each in a most special way:
- Steve was the first person I recognized. Such a strange meeting, we knew the moment our eyes met and we went from there. We both knew and felt deeply that no matter what happened or where we were, we were connected. Neither of us knowing the meaning of this at the time.
- David is another special one. He heard and came to me online, waiting months before I would even speak to him. He sent me touch and energy so I no longer felt alone.
- Kyle is the next special soul. To feel this one, the free love, the energy, the bursting into new life difficult to convey in words. He touches me very deeply and has from the moment of his birth, when shortly after he opened his eyes and smiled at me.
He is the one who, at less than 3 years of age facilitated his own communication with me. Self teaching the computer and all its programs, then coming online and playing message games on ICQ. All the while chattering away to his computer as if talking to me face to face.
He is the one who telephones at 6.30 am to tell his ‘my Nan’ that it is Christmas eve, and that he loves me.
- Bernie, or Bernadette is another dear sweet soul. Unimaginable to feel such a connection with a woman, such strong love we both feel. We had not even spoken when she walked up to me and said, ‘so your coming to stay a while with us? Welcome.’
She and her daughter welcomed me, then later my son into their lives and family.
Such a strong connection, with so little ability to live that. He with his life dramas and fears, me with mine. A very confusing relationship, yet filled with love and special moments.
I do not know why this simple photo display book popped up unexpectedly, or why its word ‘friends’ makes me feel. But it does, and I feel the people who have touch me.
I wonder what would happen if I continued with this, going through every person I can remember. To undertake this would surely change me forever.
